mycobacteriosis

Poor Rockfish. The Chespeake Bay stock of schoolie rockfish is currently plagued by mycobacteriosis, a bacterial disease that occurs among striped bass, and now, other fish as well. This year, I haven’t caught as many stripers with sores as last year, but it’s obviously still a great concern. The otherside of the fish pictured was even worse. Here is some more info on Myco from the Maryland DNR website.
