Got one of those little 4X8 foot trailer kits from Harbor Freight a few weeks back. Got it put together. Got the sheet of treated plywood last weekend and some of those self drilling/tapping screws to attach the plywood to the frame.
Today I put a set of those car top carrier kayak racks on it. The ones that set the kayak on its edge at an angle. I'm not sure how those will hold up??? They seem to flex a lot with the kayak strapped to them. I'm wondering if those things are designed more for this shorter, lighter weight whitewater style kayaks and the heavier fishing kayaks may be too much for them. I'd sure hate for one of them to fail while I was going down the road. Wouldn't be much left of the kayak by the time I got the truck stopped.
Anyone else using those brackets? Oh, the reason for setting it on an angle with those brackets is so we can set the other kayak (my son also fishes) down flat on the other side of the trailer.
