Took my son to visit USCG Academy on Friday and had Saturday morning to fish before the 1:00 football game.
Launched at a public ramp in Waterford, CT and paddled to a power plant outfall. Once there, birds were working and fish were breaking for all of the three hours I had to fish. I was catching on each cast most of the time and everything I threw got hit - topwater, trolling, crank baits and jigging.
Just an unbelievable amount of action.
Most of the fish were small by CT standards - schoolie stripers to 22" (28" is keeper size) and blues - but I did manage a couple BIG bluefish. Asked a local boater to net the second one since I didn't have a net and was tired of wrestling with the thing - both big blues were likely 30" plus fish.
Man - I hope he gets accepted!
