Thought this may be a nice resource for all you tinkerers out there. Found this doing some research for woodworking jigs. 80/20 Inc.

Has about every profile that you could imagine of T tracks, T extrusions and related hardware. The possibilities are endless. Can see applications for racks, gear tracks, trailers and on and on with many other applications outside of fishing. Don't know how they compare in prices to commercially available designed for kayak tracks but I'd imagine they are in the running. Here's a listing as an example with three approx. 2' lengths of basic T track for $29 shipped. Looks like some very heavy duty track.
