Thought I would pass along some fishing intel. Went out on the boat Thurs & covered from Breezy, Taylors, Coptank, & finally found them back up on the west shore. We jigged up 20+ keepers with the largest over 30.
I yaked out of Ft. Smallwood Park on Friday morning for a good 2 hours with no luck. I didn’t see any surface bait, no birds, no fish. I really thought I would pick something up since my last trips in this area were successful. However, I’m not sure I’ve ever enjoyed a yak outing as much as that one. It was just perfect weather, and a heck of a workout. I’m really getting it the more I’m out. I just ordered a new Skwoosh seat that I hope will be a tremendous addition. Another step stalling before I go out and get a real kayak.
Late Friday afternoon I took the boat to mid bay but didn’t find them at the same area, or anywhere else south. Came back up north and saw what looked like a flotilla of yakers off in the distance mid bay. Not sure if they are members, if they stayed out, but at 7pm the bay lit up. It was game on for as many 23-30 inch rock you wanted on the surface. I had a blast but was thinking what it would have been like in a kayak. Thanks, Dave
