Queen Anne, Kent Island Water Trail Maps
Queen Anne County free Water Trail Map of six water trails located on Kent Island, Cabin Creek Trail, Thompson Creek Trail, Chesapeake Bay Water Trail, Eastern Neck Island Water Trail & Chesapeake Bay Enviornmental Center Water Trail.
The maps are top quality and very detailed. They show the access points for canoes and kayaks and public boat launch ramps to reach these Trails. Looks like a lot of good paddle boat fishing for strippers, perch, chopper blues, spot and crabs. Could be worth a M&G future trip.
One hitch, inorder to park along the road in the designated parking areas at the kayak & canoe access spots or at the public boat launch ramps, you first have to obtain a permit from Queen Anne County Government. They have day permits, week permits and annual permits. Cost range from $10 to $30
Per car for residents and higher for NR. Permits must be displayed in windshield of vehicle. They call it a “user fee” to help maintain the acess parking areas of the County.
In addition to fishing, there's a lot of sight seeing and nature watching opportunities along these trails for the family. A few spots are designated where you can land and have a picnic lunch along the shore.
Plus you can always drop the wife or significant other off at the nearby outlets just past the 50/301 split and pick them up on the way home, or not!
