hey guys, anyone ever try the delaware bay ? was thinkin woodland beach area. heard some locals talkin about strpers are there. wonder what else is there? is it safe in a yak? what to use? i dont like to use bait but can if thats all they want.

While I haven't fished the upper part of the Delaware Bay in a few years, I have been fishing the lower part of the bay and the fishing has died off in the last few years. There are stripers to be had just fewer than in the past.

In the area you plan to fish, the current can run fast during the spring from run off from spring melts. However, there wasn't much snow this year so it might not be too bad.

One other thing to look for in the spring is debris in the water. The Delaware tends to get more of it than the Chesapeake, unless they open the dam gates like they did last year.
