I was looking at the site for Perryville Community Park and it mentioned that you had to have a permit in order to use the launch. Since I do not have said permit is there another launch area I can use around there?

I usually launch at Jean Roberts Memorial park.

At Jean Roberts, you dont have to pay the launch fee if you dont have a trailer.

No permit required to launch out of the Perryville Community Park . . . main issue is the park does not open until 07:30 am. Make sure you have a suspended jerk bait in your arsenal.------------------ ,__

You can also put in at Tydings Memorial park, its more towards the bay and the flats. At least on last weds the majority of the boats were all fishing around a mile paddle from there. I believe its no fee for a Kayak Launch there either.Mike

Any person using the Perryville Boat Ramp for launching or removing from the water any vessel must display a current permit.

The boat ramp regulations are for the Perryville Boat Ramp located on Frenchtown Road (see map link). The Community Park only allows kayak launching.
Perryville Boat Ramp (fees apply to launch - I call back in Feb since it is perfect launch site for late winter yellow perch):

Perryville Community Park (free launching):

May run into you out there tomorrow. I will be captaining an orange Heritage Redfish 12 (orange bucket instead of crate).
If you launch from Havre de Grace you will not have to pay the toll crossing bridge to Cecil County (Perryville) plus the Perryville Community Park does not open until 07:30 am.

Yeah, what dDreadnaught said about the two different "Perryville" launch locations. The one within Perryville Community Park is free and is cartop only. The other launch, located farther up the Susky River, has a ramp for big boats and has a fee.
Based on where the stripers were on Wednesday I would put-in at Tidings located at the south side of Havre de Grace.
Tidings has a BIG parking lot and a little ramp, so vehicles with boats can line up a long ways waiting to launch. To launch a kayak there I recommend parking just to the left of the boat ramp and carry your kayak out the floating pier on the left. Put it in the water off the left side of the pier so it's out of the way of the boaters, tie it off to the floating pier, then load your gear. Try not to tie up the boat ramp too long, keeps everyone happier.Last edited by HJS; 04-27-2012, 06:21 PM.Howard
