This is the fourth time in the last 15 years (2009, 2013, 2022) that the county has tried to put two private rowing clubs in Homeport Farm Park. The prior three attempts were blocked by stringent deed restrictions that sharply limit activities permitted in the park. Environmental regulations and conservation easements also prohibit the rowing development. Although the deed restrictions are unchanged and the environmental limits are more stringent, the county is once again trying to put a publicly funded rowing center for two private clubs in Homeport Farm Park. A rowing center for two private clubs will squeeze out general public water access at Homeport.
