  • Severn River Labor Day, 9/3/12.

I didn't put in Chase Creek until about 1:00 pm. (My sister lives there) Fished the usual piers. Five keeper white perch in about two hours, plus some small rock. The usual high low bottom rig and used some leftover razor clams from last week on small spinners w/ red hooks and about 3/4 of an once of weight (see pic). A bit stinky, but the fish didn't seem to mind.

Best strike in a while near the end of a pier in at about 15 feet or so of water. Glad I set my drag set fairly loose. It was an eleven inch perch with another nine incher on the bottom hook!

Here they are with my 24 inch Mighty Mite spinning combo. The Mighty Mite is perfect for Kayak fishing under piers; no fighting w/ a longer rod. Best $12.99 I've ever spend on tackle! (Angler's). Had Grand Daddy for dinner tonight. YUM!
