First post. Thanks to ComeOnFish and Redfish for introducing me and others to the site at a recent CCA NoVa meeting. Look forward to sharing,learning, and meeting some great folks who enjoy my favorite hobbie. Hope to join a future meet and greet.
Leesylvania fish report:
Tried Powell creek for first time hoping for my first snakehead. Stopped at bridge and surrounding shore. Had a hit and 1 small bass. Moved along shore making way back to lily pads with not much going along the way. Found fish at lily pads in back on outgoing tide. Ended up with 8 bass up to 4# and another 5 or so spit the hook. Most caught on green pumpkin zoom horny toad. Couple on senkos. Had a big hit with fish really running- must be my first snakehead I'm thinking. Runs under the kayak with pole really bending then snaps my graphite pole in two (not happy). Hand line fish in only to find one angry 10# catfish on the end. Oh well first snakehead will have to wait. Getting back to launch was interesting at low tide. So low couldn't pedal and ended up paddling thru mud- not fun. Had to give Mr. hobie a good bath afterwards.
