It was OK. It was my first and only fishing flea market.

          - It was geared more toward boat fishing; lots of boat rods and reels; lots of chartreuse skirt/plastic, parachute, and jig lures; a couple of charters with pics of trophy stripers
          - A bunch of gear vendors; lots of lures; a small share of spinning and conv reels for sale
          - One vendor from Delaware was selling a box full of brand new Penn (e.g., 103CS) and Shimano (e.g., Sedona, Slade) reels for only $20 each, so I picked up a Sedona 2500FB (normally $50-60); still had maybe 15-20 reels left in the box
          - Since it wasn't very large, maybe 30+ booths, I was out of there in about an hour

I heard the Tri-State flea market next week will have many more booths.

see Mike i told you and moc that was a good deal lol

went there with GB and moc smaller venue than the PSG ffm but nice. picked up a nice map with gps coordinates from MARI some floating bucktails and some small spreaders to try on the kayak. met up with jimbo and redfish12. you have to remember these shows are geared to the boaters who troll the bay, i think it was well set up for them

I got a smaller spreader with a 9 inch shad trailer... hopefully it won't be too much drag! I got some of those flounder rigs with the rubber skirts and a floating jig too. Look like they would slay some flounder.
              Used to fish more.

Hey, where's a good place for flounder around here?

Today I stopped by Anglers and asked the older bearded fellow where's a good place to catch flounder. He said here and there. Some years are good, other years not so good. No particular place where flounders hang out.

PLO is sometimes good, not last year though. The year before last a guy I know caught a flounder at the red buoy by the lighthouse at SPSP and we caught one bottom bouncing north of the 301 bridge in the Potomac in October. Last year not so much. I hope this year is better!
                  Used to fish more.

in the upper bay its hit or miss mostly miss for flounder. you might get the stray once in awhile but not consistently. i have caught them by accident at the 450 bridge in the severn river but they were small. the best bet is the eastern shore bay side from the choptank to tangier sound/honga river area, ive scored some keepers around janes island, a very nice place to fish. from cape henlopen to cape charles on the ocean side and back bays of the eastern shore is the best chance for a keeper flounder from april to the end of october

Foursteps and I went yesterday while en route to Easton. It was ok. Picked up a few lures here and there. There were some decent reels there as well. We also got a small trolling spread to use from the kayak. Kinda hard to explain, but I'll post a pic of it later.

Also picked up a boat rod to use for trolling from the kayak.

Stopped by this morning around 9AM on the way home from work, picked up a couple of still water top water lures, didn't have the Coronado 55 reel from Okuma I'm looking for. Like the others said it was more for the boater, alot of the stuff would have probably sank our kayaks. but all and all it was good to talk to some of the Captains and lure makers.

It used to be pretty good flounder fishing around Thomas Point. This would be late summer into October type fishing. I have not done any flounder fishing in the bay in quite a few years. I have heard that the size limits keep going up and up. What are they like 19" now? I don't know, but with larger size limits, I am not sure that you will get any keeper size. We used to drift fish on the Fishing Creek side of the shoal. We would drift a typical high/low flounder rig, with bull minnows. When the size limits started to go up, I gave up on flounder fishing. I used to flounder fish the bay behind Ocean City and in areas of Virginia, but the flounder fishing is nothing like it used to be. I have drifted away from it. Maybe they have been mostly netted up. We used to also have a very good run of Sea Trout in the South River in the fall, but you don't see them anymore. Who knows.

There used to also be some pretty good flounder fishing over near the mouth of the West River, in some of the flat areas. However, not any more. The fisheries seem to just be going that way. Just like anyone who tells you that there are more rockfish in the bay now than there ever has been, tell them BS. Sorry, don't mean to sound bitter, but thats just the way it is.

Foursteps and I both picked up one of these for $10

Seemed to be suitable for kayak trolling....nothing too big or heavy...

I anyone have used these or heard about these let us know. Speaking with the vendors it sounded perfect for what we all do . I drove my fiancé crazy because she asked what it was....so I proceeded to explain and gave her a demonstration like it was a model airplane. She got the point and basically I dont think she will ask for any more demonstrations. LMAO!
