Occoquan River Trip

Thinking of trying the Occoquan River in the yak this afternoon. Wind is supposed to be pretty steady at 15mph-16mph out of the South. Also, incoming tide all afternoon. I would appreciate any thoughts as to whether this is a good or bad idea given the NW to SE orientation of this river. Safety? Comfort? Catching?
