Hi all,
It's easier to use the new water access point at Shady Side Park in Anne Arundel County. This spring the county moved a fence, widened the launch path and put down some mulch to make it easier to get to the water.
Directions to Shady Side Park are on the park website. After you turn right on East-West Road, pass the first parking lot on the right and then turn right into the second parking lot. There's a big shade tree in the middle of the second parking lot. Go through the ~5 foot gap in the ballfield fence towards the left outfield. There's a wood split rail fence that marks the ~20 foot path through the treeline to the water. Wheels are handy. It's about the same carry distance as Homeport Farm Park but it's *flat*. There is a portapotty and room to park dozens of cars. You launch onto Parish Creek and can land on the Shady Cove Natural Area sandy beaches on Hopkins Cove. It's ~ 5 miles round trip to the beach at the new Jack Creek Park.
