  • Patuxent Mix

No photos, but on Sunday morning my son and I fished the Patuxent River around St. Leonard Creek on an outgoing tide. The first fish was a nice channel catfish that bit and pulled like a redfish. We caught 6 or more channels on a mix of Mepps spinners and beetle spins with gulp. Perch were biting too, but nothing over 10 inches. My son fished the outflow of a small drainage gut and caught a keeper striper. But the channel catfish were by far the fish of the morning. They would hit almost as soon as the bait hit the water. Fun to catch a few and get out on the water - which has been rare this year with the weather.
