you can fish from shore or rent boats from their boating center... but like dog said you have to have a permit to put your boat, canoe or kayak in the three resivoirs, and your craft can not be used in any other water... it would then be dedicated to those bodies of water. ""very nice place to fish"" but the issue with fishing there and no where else leaves me out and i used to fish there all the time several years back..... when there boating conditions were more relaxed.

I had a buddy that used to work at the loch raven fishing center and I was able to use their boats with him for free a few times. Never really set the world on fire fishing out there, but we always caught something. There are definately some nice fish out there. My best fish out there are a 6 lb largemouth and 4lb pickerel. My buddy also caught a pretty big Pike that was about 10lbs. In summer, some really nice fish will go up to the North of Loch Raven in the Gunpowder and you can easily sight fish for them from shore.

The Warren and Merryman's area is good because of the cold water coming in from the Gunpowder river when water temps are higher. Now that water temps are cooler I would think that they are coming into the shallower coves. Everytime I've fished at the Loch I have caught something. The place is loaded with pickerel.Olive Trophy 126 - Moored at Rocky Gorge Scott's Cove

I love Loch Raven personally, and it is a great shore fishing spot. I think I catch more fish there consistently than in other places such as Liberty and Rocky Gorge. BTW pumpkin senkos and chartreuse grubs are all you needOlive Trophy 126 - Moored at Rocky Gorge Scott's Cove
