Floated about 3.5 miles yesterday under ideal conditions from Conowingo to the Mill house below Deer Creek. I've noticed a concerning lack of aquatic life in this river. Seems to get worse each year. Used to catch a ton of smallies/perch... Now it's a struggle to catch a few fish.
3.5 miles yielded 4 smb and a catfish. My friend fared about the same. He focused on deeper holes with a slower presentation and I hammered the shallows with topwater and swimbaits.
Did get one really nice fish, but other than that, it was a disappointing trip.
