  • Fun in Whitehall Bay

Winds were down today, so I decided to head for Whitehall Bay to find some Rockfish. Launched about 7:30 and started trolling two lines with a green paddletail and a white swim shad. As I was heading out of the creek I hooked a small Specked Trout on the green paddletail.

I continued out of the creek and started a west-east path towards Hacketts Pt. in 5-7 FOW with no hits. I turned around to retrace my path, eventually heading in a southward direction. Once I got into 12-15FOW, I started hooking onto some average size Rockfish-up to 17/18" (sorry for the overexposure).

I continued a back and forth path staying in the deeper water and ended up with 10 Rock- the largest was 20" on a white swim shad

This was one of my best Rockfish outings in a long time. Wonder if they will show up in the Severn?

Good report. This time of year offers a range of species that might be available. Congratulations on the speck catch.

      Excellent outing John.

The seasonal striper pattern is definitely underway.
