Had a lengthier report typed out...lost it. Fished the lower Potomac this afternoon, two hours before high tide until sunset. Trolled and jogged, mostly trolled. Tried a variety of things: 5" Storms, 1.5oz bucktails, and .5 oz jigheads with paddle tails. .5oz jigheads and limetreuse paddle tails were the ticket. First fish (24") landed, hit right before high tide. Strong, solid, fight. Big shouldered fish, but unfortunately had severe sores. Second fish (also 24") of the day was a little skinnier, but very healthy and landed an hour later. No other bites this afternoon. Hit on a similar setup. All in all, a great day on the water. Little wind, calm seas. Likely my last rockfish trip of the 2021 season.
