We launched about an hour after dead low, with around 2.5 hours before sunset. The heat of the day was still present and we did not have high hopes with a steady +/-10 mph south wind, the heat, and tide. I was running a 1/8 oz. chartreuse spinner and a 1/8 oz. jighead & 4" pearl/chartreuse paddletail. Fall is nearly upon us and to me it seems the fish are starting to move out. Despite the wind, we managed six species in our short outing. Saw some birds and lots of bait on the surface. My buddy got three small flounder, some perch, and a puffer. Mostly on the chartreuse spinner he was running. My paddletail produced several schoolie striper and was hit by something with teeth-suspected speckled trout. The spinner was the real winner today though. I got several nice perch, puppy drum, and a real gator of a speckled trout. Unfortunately, with this weekend's forecast, I thinkntoday is the only day I'm going to be out this weekend. Stay safe out there.
