  • sunday report, 3 flounder at thomas point

today we left the dock around 6 50 and we went straight to the mouth of the south river to catch spot. we anchored on a dropoff that went from 5 to 10 feet and quickly filled the well with 40 spot. then we headed out to thomas point and did some flounder fishing for an hour and caught three, biggest was only 15. the keepers are no where to be found for some reason. 2 of the flounder were on minnows and one was on dead silversides, nothing on squid or gulp. then we went to 86 and saw good marks but it was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to windy and rough to drift or anchor so we ended the day livelining in the river, we saw huge schools of fish in about 15 feet deep and had one run that i didnt get a hook in. this is the first day since april that we havent got a keeper rock, but i think its just because the wind. we never did get to flounder fish all the spots we were going to simply because it was to rough, we are going back at it next weekend and HOPEFULLY get another keeper flattie and liveling if the spot are still around.
