I had the day off today (the Captain used his grandson as the mate), so I snuck out to fish on a tributary of the Magothy.
If I was fishing for live lining bait, I would have said that I did O.K.
Many little White perch in the 4-6 inch range plus two Yellows, one of which was keeping size, but was too pretty to eat.
So no dinner guests tonight.
The fish were mostly up under the shady side of docks, but were scattered all over the place.
I'm trying to find a reason, full moon, low tide, but the bottom line is, it's fishing, and sometimes the magic just doesn't happen.
For once a Powerbait 2" grub out caught the bignose spinner jigs, a lesson in humility, for sure.
