Kayak fishing on the Corrotoman and Rappahannock in Lancaster....

My younger son and I will be visiting the family in Lancaster, VA next week. We would like to do some morning kayak fishing on the Corrotoman and Rappahannock. We will be near the Merry Point ferry, West Point, Bar Point, and Belle Isle State Park is just up the road. How has the fishing been the last few weeks? I would welcome any tips or suggestions. What should we be targeting? What types of bait or lures should we be using?
