It was the first calm day in 2 weeks.
I was very optimistic for several reasons.
Firstly, I always catch tautog 100% in 46 F water.
Secondly, there were two slack tides in my fishing window. Which means I could fish during 2 mild out going and 1 mild incoming tides around the slack tides.
Thirdly, the currents was super mild all day.
But, It wasn’t a fantastic day. I barely managed to catch 3 keepers at 16-17”.
One remarkable thing was that I caught a fish a second time. The fish got away with a broken leader was captured in 10 minutes. This was the first time I caught a fish with my broken leader on it. I am keeping the broken leader as a souvenirs.
