Yes, Seneca Breaks isn't far from Gaithersburg.
Good place to go if you don't have a shuttle. You can float and fish down stream then paddle back up the C & O Canal.

Could you fill in a little more information? I'm guessing from looking at Google Earth that you launch at Violets Lock. Just float down a mile or so through the breaks and pull out and over to the canal and back up?

You got it. There's a big tree with yellow painted on it on the left hand side of the Potomac. It's a short carry to the canal.

Nice Tom, what were the best baits of the day? You still using that Pop -R?

I went solo. I caught several on the pop-r and had a few come off on the way back to the kayak.
The big ones came on a beetle spin with a paddle tail fluke.
The 15 incher put up a great fight and stripped drag a few times. The 17 incher was a beauty. My largest smallie from a kayak. I forgot how big and beautiful they get after catching so many dinks this year.
