Rocky Gorge bass from the last few days

Took a few days off work and used it to go fishing. Got another pig today! 20 inches and prob 4 lbs.

I did see another high 20s/low 30s northern pike follow my spinnerbait in, but forgot to do a figure 8 and he turned away when he saw me. I still want to catch a 30+ northern

Hows the water level at RG. Do you know if it's high enough to launch from Browns Bridge?

Thanks guys! I gotta say my results this year changed drastically once I started using heavier spinnerbaits and slow rolling them. This is the best I've done at RG in the 4 years I've fished it.

John, the water level is down probably 10 ft. Brown's Bridge is probably a little stream and unlaunchable if you have a hobie pedal kayak when the levels are this low.

Thanks guys! I wouldn't say I have it figured out, but the slow rolling spinnerbait trick seems to be consistent. Worked in the summer and fall at least. There are probably going to be times when only jigs/soft plastics will work though.

Do you have a feel for how deep you are running your spinnerbaits?

I count them down. With a trailer grub they seem to fall 1 ft per second. I figure as long as I'm fishing above the fish, they'll see it.

I also tried the yo-yo technique, but the fish seem to respond better to a slow steady retrieve maybe because the water visibility is so poor and a steady straight retrieve helps.
