Mallows Bay 7/22

I launched after work & fished from 5:30 pm til dark. Not one fish bit or even got spooked! I did see 1 snakehead swimming. Others were skunked too. I did see 2 bald eagles.

I got skunked a few weeks ago too. It's that time of year... lots of baitfish for them to eat so they probably don't need our lures as much as later on in the fall.

I fished Occoquan Bay, same time. Got 3 snakeheads, missed another 3. Fished today as well (7/23/15), saw a lot of snakes. Nobody was hungry. Got one snakehead to bite out of aggression, but I acted too soon and yanked my frog out of his mouth. I saw the fish, he would have been largest snakehead I ever caught, 30+ inches. Ironically, he was the only snakehead that I was able to get to bite today.
