drifting the "swatty" for smallmouth

My son and I drifted the Swatara in central PA for smallies. The water and weather were great but fishing was spotty. We'd catch a few in a particular spot the have nothing for half a mile.
I was happy to catch all my nicest fish in a crawdad imitator (a Yum creature bait). That included a nice 17incher!
in all a fun day in the sun!

A beautiful day on the water with your son is a winning day by itself. Add a few fish and you really have something to enjoy! Thanks for the report

yeah it was great....brings back memories since i am the one who taught him to fish. That was mostly smallmouth fishing on the Columbia out west
btw ..we put in at Hershey and took out at Hummelstown. Next time we'll go from Hummelstown down river.
