  • Occoquan Flathead, LM, and Bluegill but no Crappie

Just for the fun of it, I started my little Christmas tour after Thanksgiving Day. Occoquan (Dec 2) was my second location. I will be working on every weekend until Christmas, so I started utilizing weekday off for short fishing trips.

It was raining almost all day. My main target species were Crappie and Flathead. For two hours I got zero bites from crappie. So I moved for Flathead. I had striper lures and smelly Jelly. I jigged with striper lure with smelly Jelly. In few minutes, I hooked a flathead. I moved on and kept fishing for crappie for two more hours I caught a crappie, LM and a bluegill.
    The water Temp was 50F.

    Thank you

          Yes.
It is fun to be a Santa on a kayak. People smile, laugh, and take videos/photos. We greet and talk. Many times at the launch, people want to take photos of me, them, and gift-wrapped fish together because everyone carries a smart phone.

This is too funny. I can't wait to see your report for next weekend. So how do you wrap the fish in bows like presents?
            That catfish is impressive.

That is awesome. That flat head is impressive. I remember catching big ones like that back in Texas years ago. I've been meaning to get down to the Occoquan, I believe this was the inspiration I needed.
