PB Citation Gar

Landed a 44 inch 13 lb 11 oz garzilla yesterday. Was just slowing from a 3 mph troll, stood to take a leak and just then, wham, he hit a BPS XTS minnow and the fight was on. Two inches bigger then last years PB. can't believe I landed him, very slippery and slimy, gotta start carrying a leather glove!

You put your hand closer to its mouth than I would. Nice fish!

They get pretty docile once you have a good hold on em. Trying to weigh it was the scary part. Hook up under gill, puts hand holding scale adjacent to the rows of razor sharp teeth. First and last one I will weigh like that. In the future, weigh in net, subtract net weight and get a leather glove!

nice gar! I really have a fondness for those fish, even when they snip the trailers right off my swim jigs, don't know why they allow them to be bowfished
