I haven't fly fished in years, but if you want to really catch some nice sunny's try floating some nymphs. I used to use some small brown ones and float them down with the current at pool tails and similar places. When the line stop floating pull up and you'll usually have a sunny.

I heavier current used to use the crystal buggers with the barbell eyes.
