Good question Mark. When I caught the tiny thing, I was thinking it was a very small and pale largemouth bass. Now that I'm looking at it, it could have been a smallmouth bass. I thought the fish was ambitious, trying to eat a lure that was half the size of it.

Digging up this old post to note why I think Rocky Gorge is a worthwhile place to fish. Being able to catch multiple pike in one trip, along with bass, sunfish, and and perch is pretty cool in my book. I've also been skunked a huge number of times there in my life, but the good days make up for it.Last edited by DanMarino; 04-28-2020, 04:59 PM.

Sad to say that my prime fishing years were in 2014-2016. Circumstances of life, weather, and COVID-19 have conspired against the number of kayak fishing trips I have been able to conduct since. Sadly, fishing is usually not in a kayak and often in a small pond, lake, or river close to home.
I too am looking forward to having fishing access to the WSSC reservoirs.
