I'm fortunate to have a nice community pond that holds a nice mix of freshwater fish. Went out with my rubber boots on (squishy would be the word of the day) and started casting a tube bait Carolina rigged.

Conditions were ideal but I was distracted by a pair of bald eagles dancing in the sky for about the first 5 minutes. Spent the next 30 minutes with no bites but had gotten to a sunny bank. I almost panicked when I felt that familiar tug but recovered in time to set the hook. First bass of the year caught.

Wasn't very big but it got my juices flowing again.
