Harpers Ferry this weekend

Pending cooperative weather my girlfriend and I will be taking a day trip to Harpers Ferry on Saturday. We'd like to hike, fish(mainly why I want to go), and do some photography(her). Unfortunately this trip will be yak-less, but I plan on scouting while there. Neither of us have ever been so I'm looking for some suggestions on what areas to check out? Thanks!

Fun place to kayak and smallie fish in the summer down river from the Route 340 bridge.
I've never tried fishing from shore around there. Harpers Ferry is a fun place. Parking is strange in the town. I've never figured out how the parking works there, so you might get a ticket.

Looks like the river is really high, I wouldn't go anywhere near it at this level. Usually 1-2 feet is safe for wading in and it's about 7 feet.
