First White Perch of the Year

Launched at Hillsboro about 9:30 this morning in search of some Perch. Lots of shoreline anglers using minnows with bobbers. Headed upstream, was throwing a 1/8 jig with chartreuse twistertail and a 3/8 chartreuse spinner. Got my first WP about 3/4 hour later on the spinner. Hit a nice spot and was in competition with a shoreline guy. He took home a couple dozen for supper. Mine were C&R today. On the way back to launch, saw a shoreline guy hook up,what appeared to be some type of shad or herring.
