Took advantage of today to hit SML. There were a couple other fisherman out but I didn’t see them for most of the day. The skies were turning blue when I launched at 10:30 and filled with ospreys, an eagle, a strike wing of vultures and even a Presidential Helo made a drive by. Headed up lake hoping the shallow end warmer. May have been but the fish weren’t there. Came back to a spot I know holds pickerel in about 4’ of water off a bank. Picked up 3 pickerel and one bass. Nothing big but fun none the less.
Wind really picked up making it difficult to fish my Senko so stuck with a jighead and Gulp. By end of the day I had 5 bass, 4 pickerel, and this nice crappie.
I began to see pleasure kayakers on the water with one distributing common denominator, not a one had a life preserver on, or even with them. Air temps were in the 70’s but the lake still felt upper 40’s, maybe low 50’s. Clearly lulled into a false sense of security. Can’t fix stupid
