9/2/13 Labor day @ the Potomac River

On Labor Day I went fishing with a friend that just got started kayak fishing couple of months ago. I caught around 20 fish. 4 of my fish around 14” -15” and the rest was dinks. I caught most of my fish with fluke w/ 1/8 oz weighted hook and jig w/craw. I let my lure bounce around the bottom. I’m not sure how many fish my buddy got but he caught himself a Nice 17” on a fluke.

Thanks! I only know brunswick to point of rocks area. And that area is hit and miss.

Yeah I told him. He has been barrowing his beighbor kayak and He is now looking at a Ride 115. HA!

Nice pics !! That 17'' er is a nice one . How was the grass ? Haven't hit that section since owning a yak ( plenty of times wading ) and was thinking about checking it out maybe tomorrow or this weekend depending on the weather. Just drove down to Algonkian . Looks nice and clean. Going either there or Riverbend later today. Thanks for the report !

Thanks for the info Berto. Went to Algonkian yesterday and the grass was bad there. Caught a few dinks but fishing was tough . Same method... smoke fluke with a screw on bullet weight 1/8 oz . Still might hit Riverbend tomorrow.
