Mallows Bay on 05/17/14

Agree with Turtle135. I bring my worst kayak there so I won't feel bad when it gets gouged up on something.

Went there yesterday. I didn't do as well. It was still a good day. I took the ascend instead of the Hobie. It was a good choice. Not being familiar with the area, tide going out, dirty water, I would have had issues. I hit some of the metal, but nothing scary. I could see a yaker getting in trouble if a small swell gets you over the metal bars and then your inside them. I saw a couple of yaks, but on my way out in the car, 4 vehicles with 2 and 3 a piece came in (1030ish). Something made a half hearted pass at my frog in the shallows, then I looked away too see the debris, and when I turned back my frig was gone and the line was racing towards me. I didn't set it in time. I hooked up on one bass and then one cat before calling it quits.






Lots to see. I bet the summer will heat up even more for snakeheads.
