  • Upper Potomac :Saturday

I had a good day Saturday in the intermittent rain showers. I found an area that had willing smallies stacked up. They seemed to really prefer a chartreuse grub . Other baits went pretty much untouched. I ended catching about 15. I m sure I lost just as many as I caught. For some reason I kept losing them boat side. Very frustrating.

They were typical Upper P smallies. I did catch a couple that were true dinks. Most were 10-15" though. No really nice ones but I had a good time.

I was not at the MAKBF site. This was downriver a ways. Water was still very stained.Only visibility a foot or less regardless of which side of river you were on.

Good to hear somebody found some up to 15".

I was in the MAKBF and could not connect with anything over 10" (one of the more bizarre days I have ever had on the UP). On losing them during the fight, I think when they are very small it is hard to get a real hookset into them. Not enough resistance from the fish.
