I had a couple free hours last night, so I decided to beat the bank at Liberty for a little while. Within the first dozen or so casts, (almost) landed two really nice size LMB. The first one I had on the bank, but couldn't get a hold of before he tossed the hook and one flopped it back in the water. The second one popped my knot at the lure and swam off with it right as I was bending over to grab him. Hopefully he was able to shake it loose. Both were in the 20" range. After that the bite slowed down a bit, with the exception of a crappie a little while later. All were caught on a fire-tiger spinnerbait.
Lessons learned:
A) I REALLY need a landing net.
B) I need to learn a better terminal knot. The trusty Trilene knot isn't as trusty as I need it to be with fluoro.
