Piney Run in the morn?

What a beautiful morn for a paddle. Last time I went I caught everything, this time I got a couple hits but landed zip. I saw LMbass, yp, & gills. I saw nobody else catch anything.

In have tried fishing piney several times this year, zero hits (I have been blaming it on the park opening too late). What did you use in the past to land fish out of piney?

I just went up there Sunday and caught to yellow perch and I swear it was a shad. Definitely not a white perch but all were fairly small using a mepps spinner lol. Didn't think I'd catch anything with the spinner because I was just water testing my new kayak.
