Hey guys looking to get a keeper cobia this year off the kayak. Anyone that wants to head out this year let me know. I’d much rather head out with someone experienced in the area and in targeting them from a kayak if anyone wants to go. I know the season doesn’t open till June but I’m trying to plan ahead. I plan on fishing off Gradvoew and Buckroe area. Chiming and fishing live bait on a float. Any pointers let me know please.
So far I’ve read to fish in 8’ to 15’ of water. Live spot or croakers and or eels. Have heard floats are better cause you catch less sharks and rays.
How big of a anchor do you need to hold the bottom there? Any currents/tides or spots to watch out for?
Best put in spots?
Thanks
