  • Bay Bridge Launch and fish area

Me and a bud will be fishing near the bay bridge tomorrow for the first time launching out around 3:30-4pm. Where’s a decent spot to launch and a good place to fish, under the bridge near structure? Thanks!

I just got a Hobie Revo and have not been out to the bay bridge yet, but I would suggest you read through the Maryland forum from past years around this time of year. You will see report after report of trips to the bay bridge.

Although the guys on this board are very generous with information, a lot of them put in years of hard work finding successful places to fish. You have to do some homework. Or go fishing with one of them, that's how I learned at the July meet and greet. And if you are new to bay fishing on a kayak, you should absolutely go to any meet and greets that come up in the fall.

      Jmoye,

You and your buddy would do better if you're after stripers to cross the bridge to one of many launches on Kent Island that provide access to calmer protected waters. And if you read the reports here as belairfishing suggested, you'll see that a lot of stripers have been accessible to kayakers a short hike across the bridge.

If you're after perch, I would go no farther than the Severn.

      Good luck and be safe.
