  • Wilderness Systems ATAK 140 anyone using this out in the bay?

    Hello all!

I have been thoroughly enjoying this forums information and thank you.

Most of my fishing is out in the CB on Kayaks. I am looking to upgrade to an actual fishing kayak and checking out the Wilderness Systems ATAK 140, anyone using this out in the bay or big water?

It’s within my price range and looks like a decent set up. I fish a lot out at the BB and in the mid bay river mouths.

I have a Wilderness Systems Ride 115 and I had it on the bay before I bought my Hobie Revolution. Not sure how the two compare, but the Ride 115 is very stable, and the seats are beyond compare, in my humble opinion better that Hobie.

Curious, is there a pedal drive option for the ATAK 140?

No peddle drive but they offer the helix motor, also it has the infrastructure for a rear motor.

I plan on paddling and retrofitting a minnkota I have on the rear.

I have fitted a Minn Kota 40 to my OC trident 13 and a Watersnake 24 to my Vibe 10 footer. 70 in November and sometimes I need a boost to get back to the ramp after a day of fishing.
