Yesterday I had the opportunity to volunteer at a great event for our active military. I met some great young men with very positive attidudes on life despite personal losses.

After a slow start, we loaded the vets into their own kayaks with all the gear they needed to kayak and fish at Piney Point. With a great group of volunteers to assist those that needed it, everyone got on the water and started having some fun despite the heat.

I happend to meet up with a young 19 year old from Nebraska that was a natural in a kayak. He outfished me with a couple of hard to find bass on a wacky worm.

After a great lunch from Misson BBQ, the group was presented with their own rod/reed combos to take home.
