  • Accessory holder

    Happy Monday to all.
I have a Scotty Tripple Rod Holder Mount I would like to use for FF/GPS, Marine Radio, drink holder, or whatever.
I understand the Scotty Universal mount will handle the FF/GPS and drink holder; however, what do I buy and use to mount and hold a VHS radio like an Icom or SH?
Searching for a Scotty radio holder has gotten me nowhere - frustrating isn't it?!

On another note: I would very much appreciate it if anyone with milk crates to sell would let me know; I would like to buy three.

    Many thanks to all!

      I have two milk crates.

I sent you a PM about them.

I attach my radio to my PFD via the spring clip that is on the back of the radio. That makes the radio very easy to reach yet keeps it out of my way.

Ditto. In the event I am separated from my yak, I will still have the VHF to call for assistance.

Thank you all - greatly appreciate your wisdom and guidance. I will attach my radio - when purchased, to my vest. Perhaps a ff/gps and drink holder will suffice initially; leaving me an opening for another possible item at a later time. Keeping my radio in my vest will make responding to any calls much easier as well.

Mark - sent PM responding to your msg regarding milk crates. Thank you.

Let me ask yet another noob question if I may; having a tripple rod holder mount for a drink holder and ff/gps, what other item might I want/need for the third holder in front of me?
            thanks very much!

Here's a link to a good article about how to attach a VHF radio to a PFD. I used to use a different method, but recently changed PFD's. The new PFD is "challenged" on where/how to mount a radio. I used this method in the link and it looks great so far.

Another drink holder!!! Or a good place to stash pliers, bait tray/cutting board, loose tackle storage. I like to keep all the baits I've fished separate from my un fished tackle so I can spray it down when I get home.
