    I think I also used acrylic paint, and some left over cheap Truck bed liner paint. Both worked well. I've only had to reapply on the edge where the reels rub.

      Not related to the crate, but there is a paint/dye specific for the PVC. It is a dye that actually bonds to the PVC with a chemical reaction. I wanted to match the PVC pipes on my Trailer with my papaya/yellow kayak. It was a mess to do (my fault), but turned out pretty good- better than white. I've since switched over to carpet on the pipes-

      You can find it on ebay. a little Pricy, but no flakes or chips

        I was going to paint my crate but I didn't want it to leave paint residue on the top of my yak from all the moving around. Any suggestions ?

          I used a spray paint that is suppose to stick to plastic and it did not work out so well.
