Cabelas 12Volt 8amp battery with charger. Should run the Elite 5 for just about 8 hrs. $34.99

Glad you happened to mention run time here. I used my elite 5 for the 1st time yesterday and my 7ah battery died after maybe 3 hours. I must have forgotten to charge it before trying the new FF, I was worried 7ah wasnt going to work out.

My Elite 5 draws just under 1amp (.96) with the transducer hooked up and everything at factory settings. So a 7 amp hr battery should last about 7 hrs
I also have a 5amp hr battery I tested it yesterday and it ran just over 4 1/2 hrs on the Elite 5 I am thinking of getting a second 8amp battery So I can be using one and charging one. Cabelas is only 6 miles away.

The 5 amp battery is for a smaller Fish Finder

I started with a 5 amp-hr battery, then got a 7 amp-hr battery. They provided adequate power when new, but after 6-12 months, they would no longer take a full charge. On some occasions, the battery conked out in mid-trip. Last year I bought a 12 amp-hr battery. It provides plenty of power, but is heavy.

Long time ago I thought batteries and chargers are all the same regardless prices and brands. But I learned.
Sorry to tell you this. To me, Cabela's batteries are garbage. It will work for Mono FF. The Cabelas charger is also a garbage. It can't charge the battery fully in my case.

I only use GS batteries now:
              8ah:

              12ah
              http://www.amazon.com/Yuasa-NP12-12-...teries+charger

              Chargers:
I like two chargers. They last for years and still fully charge the batteries that weren't fully charged by other chargers. I bought them at Batteries Plus in my time on Friday before the trips. They are available online:

              NOCO Genius G750 -
              http://www.amazon.com/Consumer-Elect...attery+charger

Werker WK12V500 - it's small but it does what it suppose to do

I usually run 4 chargers at a time. Other chargers didn't last long, and couldn't charge the batteries fully.

Some other members can also suggest good batteries and chargers.
