My two year old AGM 12 volt 20 aHr battery is not holding a charge- it weighs about 12 or so pounds so I am replacing it with a 12 volt 12 aHr that weighs 7.9 pounds...it will not power my Elite 5 DSI for a full fishing trip...and I am doing the Jackson seat mod for my Outback- using the Attwood hard rubber light pole clips to mount the seat so the scupper holes are not covered...just a little maintenance- been considering buying a new Outback but the Ugly Duckling is a fine boat- there is nothing wrong with the one I have other than it doesn't have the latest features of a 2016 Outback...$2400 for a seat and reverse...Humm...and I just retired-maybe next year...

I have the Jackson big tuna and think you will love the Jackson seats. One of the main reasons I wanted a Jackson was the canopy frame seat for my bad back. It is so much better than my old sit in with pad seats.

I watched several You Tube Outback - Jackson Elite seat conversions- the one I settled on was the 2014 Outback conversion using Attwood 3/4 inch rubber pole light clips...one issue is the 2014 Outback hull is slightly different from my 2010 Outback in the scupper hole placement- pretty apparent when you measure with a tape...but not an insurmountable problem- the good thing about the clips is the ease of install, removal of the seat- UPS delivered my new battery yesterday afternoon-AGM 12V 12aHr...7.9 pounds...replacing my old AGM 12v20ahr 12 pound battery that doesn't hold a charge...

Ok- all finished- seat is in and is easily installed/removed for transportation/storage...new battery all hooked up and ready to go...hatch cover gasket repairs complete...mirage drive set screws tightened up on the turbo fins and a liberal dose of Break Free applied...think I am ready to get it wet and see if any adjustments need to be made...update- don't mess with the rubber pole clips- they just deform like jello when you put weight on them...I fabricated mine out of one inch aluminum angle 2 inches long- drilled a 3/4 inch hole one inch from the end and secured them with #10 stainless steel screw. Seat mounting is solid as a rock now- and the new 12V-12aHr AGM battery is doing an excellant job- very well pleased with it...
