  • Pickup Truck Rod Holders

Hey Everyone! My current setup is only missing one thing..Rod holders for my rods. I was considering 2 rod Tubes..but they worry me a bit. So Im going to be building a rod holder for the Bed of my truck that can sit overtop where my Kayak sits when I haul it. I dont have the slide rails that are pictured in this setup picture and could use some advice on how to mount it to the inner walls/bedliner of my truck.

That will be my final solution. But I was hoping to save $50 or so and build my own. Ive looked into their products and like what I see

If you find a DIY better/cheaper way, please re-post here with pics!

I'm thinking of doing the same, except incorporated into a hitch receiveR because my truck has a cap.

ive been looking into rod holders for my truck too. my old truck had a rack on the roof and used ski holders and it was awesome, but trying to stay away from a rack again bc of the loss of clearance in garages (yet ive had this truck for 8 months and i have yet to go into a garage...) one thing i have is a tool box, so i was thinking about bolting these to the box. taco-4-rod-holder-rack-brushed-aluminum-f31-3004bsa-1.jpg

next problem is they arent lockable. so i thought i could drill a hole through them where i would pass a rod like this

do you guys know of any locking rod holders?

an idea just popped in my head, i always thought of putting the rod holder vertical, but now i'm thinking horizontal...bolting something to top of my tool box and making some kind of rack down the bed. hmm or maybe racks down the bed rails. so many ideas now
